State Apology Signed by the Governor
Self-advocates and allies have worked for about 16 years to have an apology bill passed and signed for citizens who lived and died in state institutions in Minnesota. The bill was signed on May 26th. Self-advocates and allies celebrate this event! To honor this resolution, Arc Southwest and SAM SW will hold various celebrations through-out the year. Remembering With Dignity (RWD) will plan an event in August in St. Peter to honor this resolution and to display an art show called, "See Their Faces". The Arc of Minnesota Southwest now participates in the Housing Access Services Program through the Arc of Minnesota. This program helps eligible Minnesota adults with disabilities seek and locate affordable, accessible housing.
