The Arc of Minnesota Southwest
Strategic Goals
GOAL #1: The Arc of Minnesota Southwest will expand its capacity to serve as effective regional non-profit
organization and will enhance its financial stability.
GOAL #2: The Arc of Minnesota Southwest will provide strong programs that will serve individuals and
families across the region. Programs will focus on the following critical areas:
Self Advocacy - empowering individuals with disabilities to become effective advocates
for their needs and the needs of others with disabilities.
Family Connections – empowering families to become effective advocates for their
children’s needs and the needs of other children with disabilities and their families.
Education & Transition – providing education, training, support and assistance to
parents to ensure that they are empowered to advocate effectively for the educational needs
of their children.
Housing – working to ensure that people with disabilities have access to affordable,
accessible homes in the community.
Employment – working to ensure that people with disabilities have competitive
employment opportunities in the community.
Public Policy – working to engage people with disabilities, their families, and the
community in public policy efforts that impact people with disabilities in Minnesota.
GOAL #3: The Arc of Minnesota Southwest will enhance its effectiveness in the areas of Outreach,
Communications & Development:
· Public Relations – regional public relations plan/efforts
· Communications – coordinating consistent communications region-wide
